Cooperation under the 1993 MOU on Drug Control

Background (UNODC link)

In 1993, the Governments of China, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Thailand and UNDCP (UNODC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) under the conviction that concerted efforts were essential to address the worsening problems of illicit drug production, trafficking and abuse in the region. In 1995 Cambodia and Vietnam joined the sub-regional cooperation agreement in drug control and became parties of the regional group.
