As to commemorate the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, ONCB and Narcotics Control Foundation jointly convened the Anti-drug Awards Ceremony every year, since 1994. The ceremony was to nominated the selected individuals, stars, and organizations who had outstanding contributions to the public on anti-drug activities as well as to promote the 2004 event. Moreover, this year the Colombo Plan Drug Advisory Programme (DAP) and UNODC also co-shared the forum to honour the Royal Project Foundation and Mom Rajawongse Disnadda Diskul, Private Secretary to Her Royal Highness Srinagarindra the Princess Mother - Chairman of the Doi Tung Development Project under Royal Initiative, as well. The Ceremony was presided by General Thammarak Isarangura, Deputy Prime Minister at the Government House on June 24, 2004. There were totally 44 organizations and 44 individuals have been awarded.
