2002 International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking
27th Destruction of Confiscated Narcotics

26 June 2002, the Ministry of Public Health held the 27th destruction of confiscated narcotics ceremony at the Bangpa-In Industrial Estate, Ayutthaya Province. The ceremony has been presided by Her Royal Highness Princess Ubolratana. Public Health Minister Mrs. Sudarat Keyuraphan, senior officials, and distinguished diplomatic corps presented for Her Royal Highness courtesy. The Royal Thai Government has been being part with the United Nations as well as the entire world on the destruction of narcotic drugs on every International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, consecutively. This year, it was a highest amount of drug destruction ever been recorded in Thailand. 10.8 tons of narcotics; 3.8 tons of YABA - Methamphetamine, 8.86 Kilograms of Ecstasy, 2.2 tons of Heroin, 1.6 tons of Opium, 7.89 Kilograms of Cocaine, 2.05 tons of Marijuana and Kratom Plant, and the others, at the totaling value of 5,356.52 million Baht has been burned at 850 c - 1,200 c in the Thermo-Reactor chamber of industrial waste incinerators.
